History of Gem State Staffing

Gem State Staffing was founded in 2000 by Tom & Lee Ann Welstad. The first branch opened in Idaho Falls in early 2001. Gem State Staffing became an instant success because of the dedication to quality customer service and experienced staff. The business model was simple: provide quality staffing and customer service at a competitive rate. With an unprecedented success rate in the first year of operations Gem State Staffing expanded into the Twin Falls market in 2002. 

With a proven track record in Idaho Falls, the Twin Falls branch was able to open the office with confidence and quickly began to make an impact on the local community. Twin Falls, like Idaho Falls, is a rural area centered on agriculture and manufacturing. Because of the “blue collar” work ethic of its own local employee’s Gem State Staffing was able to build lasting relationships with local businesses that remain in place today. 

With a robust economy and flourishing business model in place for three years Gem State Staffing expanded once again to the Treasure Valley market with the Boise office in 2004. With the opening of the Boise office Gem State Staffing was able to market its services to support companies in Southern Idaho from Oregon to Wyoming! The Treasure Valley also brought new and exciting industries into the Gem State Staffing family and provided customers a local option in the staffing industry.

With the unbelievable success of the Boise office Gem State Staffing set its sights on the west end of the Treasure Valley market with the opening of the Nampa office in 2006. Gem State Staffing continued its successful campaign to become an area leader in quality staffing and established its reputation in the incredibly competitive market. 

In 2008 Gem State Staffing opened its latest office in Pocatello. Pocatello’s local economy is consistent with most rural areas in Southern Idaho relying heavily on agriculture. With a focused effort on customer service and competitive rates the Pocatello office has made an immediate impact with a promising future.
